- Meizhan is an underappreciated long leaf tea cultivar with an interesting history. Originally found in Anxi County in Fujian province, it was later introduced into the Wuyi area, where it was crafted into oolong. This tea was often blended with other cultivars and falsely labeled as the famous Da Hong Pao oolong, which was in high demand at the time, leaving Meizhan lesser known.
Although Meizhan is still most often processed into oolong, our Meizhan is processed into a beautifully unique green tea that highlights the cultivars bright, grassy, umami notes and punctuates a spicy finish; all the while, maintaining sweet floral intricacies.
Tastes Include: Rose geranium, Cardamom, Grass, Eucalyptus.
